Our Home's Food Allergy Friendly Staples
In my home, we have many food allergies. These items do not contain milk, peanuts, tree nuts, oats, beef, sesame, legumes, fish or eggs.
Dairy and Egg Free Alternatives
Love being able to use this on turkey burgers or grilled cheese! Takes a little longer to melt but still works just as good as the real thing.
Since finding this egg free mayo, it has been such a victory! You never notice the absence of mayo until you can't have it!
This sour cream is definitely thicker than the real thing but tastes just like the real thing! Has been a game changer in recipes.
This yogurt is delicious and one of the best snacks or breakfast options for our family.
I would always dream of the day I could make my family an allergy free cheesecake, now I can with this. And it's delicious.
Candy
If you're looking for a "healthier" candy, this is the brand to look for. These are comparable to sour Skittles without the dyes and allergy friendly manufacturing.
Comparable to Starbursts, these are also dye free and safe manufacturing for food allergies. I found they are also a lot softer and easier to chew compared to Starbursts.
If the sour ones aren't your thing, these are free of dyes as well and much easier to chew for the little ones than regular Skittles may be.
Since we can't have M&M's in our home, these are the next best thing. And on top of being allergy friendly, they are completely vegan!
Supplements
Adding supplements to my son's diet has always been important. Since he is also allergic to certain fish, this is perfect to get his Omega 3's. Also does not taste terrible!
These liquid vitamins do not taste like vitamins, tastes just like orange juice and is not a pain to get my son to take his vitamins.
Pantry
In our home, we have to be very careful about possible cross contamination, these seeds are a delicious and nutritous snack for our nut free home and are top 14 allergy free.
Hands down the best alternative to peanut butter! Super creamy and I am so grateful this exists so my family can still enjoy this deliciousness. I suggest buying from Sam's Club because it is much cheaper.
I love the convenience of these boxes of mac and cheese. My son loves them and the ingredients are really good!
I was finally able to make our family some delicious nachos with this cheese! I love how it comes conveniently in a jar just like the real thing. You can almost not tell the difference.
Although thankfully my son does not have to avoid gluten, he does have to avoid sesame and this hoison sauce does not contain sesame like the non gluten free version does.
Snacks
Besides homemade cookies, these are the next best thing. So soft and chewy. They also have other flavors like Confetti that are just as good.
These are great for grab and go snacks. Great ingredients too!
